What have you done for Crochet Month?

I'm sure that everyone who's reading this blog knows that March is Crochet Month! Have any of you taught someone else to crochet or maybe learned to crochet yourselves? I taught myself to crochet just a little over a year ago and I'm happy to say I'm in love with crochet! I've always got a crochet project going on.

Another thing is I have a very special crochet designer that I follow and try to promote whenever possible. Her name is Tamara Gonzales and she has a blog called Tamara's Take on the Crochet Soiree website. Here is a link to the website:  http://www.crochetsoiree.com/ I hope that you each go there and read her blog. Another thing I'd like to see you all do is join us April 2 or so for a CAL that we'll have going on. We're gonna be using one of Tamara's first patterns for a scarf, which I hope everyone can use either as a Christmas present or for charity. Leisure Arts is publishing Tamara's first book which will be out in the next couple of weeks. I'll be posting more about the book just as soon as it comes out. Tamara is a great new designer kid on the block who has a wonderful personality and is a genuinely nice person. You'll love to get to know her. Let me know what you think okay? Thanks friends.

Barbara, I love that you taught yourself to crochet! I'm pretty sure you must have read on my blog, that I helped my friend Erin become more confident in her crochet and I also heard of another friend who has started crocheting after seeing what I've shared. What a happy feeling!

I read Tamara's Take daily and really need to get on the Soiree site more often. Just not enough time in the day to do all I want.

I would love to see more of the projects you are working on!!

last week my mom came over for dinner and i gave her a refresher crochet course so that she can make baby hats for some friends and relatives. it was a really fun time.

Hey Barb, I will definitely be on Crochet Soiree to join in on Tamara's CAL. She has such great designs it is hard to choose which one of her projects to make. But doing this scarf will really be a help on Christmas Gifts. So I will see you there!

Hi Barbara,
Just stopping by to see what you are up to and to say Hi. I also love the Crochet Soiree website and love Tamara's designs. I didn't know about the CAL, however. I may check that out. Hope you have a terrific day!

Hi Barbara,

Thank you for all the nice compliments about me, I'm blushing! I've been working on my design contest piece (or pieces?) for CGOA contest at the Knit and Crochet Show in July this month, plus a lot more crocheted things. I'm going to do a blog about the CAL and hopefully alert more people about it on Crochet Soiree. I wanted to let the people that haven't joined Crochet Soiree, it's free with no obligations. Just come and join in the conversation and see all the pretty things that people make. Thanks again for everyones nice comments. Hugs and Happy Crocheting!!!!

I'm proud of you for teaching yourself to crochet! I learned a few years ago, or should I say, re-learned, and have forgotten again! I need to get on the ball, of yarn. HA!
