Getting Ready........

It seems that everyone is getting ready for the big day, the day when everything halts in this country and hopefully we all take a moment and remember exactly what we're celebrating and let the joy and the wonder and the belief that on this day a tiny babe was born who we and countless others before us call "Emmanuel". Yes that day is Christmas and we prepare more for that day than for any other day of the year. I have recently been crocheting angels, and it seems that the more I crochet, the more I find someone to give one to. A very dear friend of mine, Molly of crochetingmybestwithmyworsted.blogspot.com/ gave me the pattern and I just love it 'cause you can change the color of the angels dresses (for lack of a better word) and match those colors up with the favorite color of the people you are giving them to. Pretty neat huh? I also made a "Hello Kitty " purse for the daughter of a swap partner of mine that I just felt would really enjoy it. This pattern was also easy to do and is a pattern of Lisa Gentry, out of her "Hooked for 30 days Ebook" I really feel that homemade or made from the heart gifts are always best don't you? Stay tuned as I babble on about the crocheting that I'm doing and some of the friends I'm making along the way. A friend is to be cherished.

You have really made this a pretty blog. Your angels look so nice sutting there, I think you have done a jam up job with them. I agree with you about the colors, they may alll be made the same but just changing the color of their dress makes them each so unique. I'm so glad you enjoy them as I do to. Take care my friend.

Soooo lovely, Barbara!

My Mom tried to teach me to crochet when I was a girl, but alas, I finally gave up. My moods affected the tension of the thread I held so that when I was finished, you could tell all the times I set the project down and picked it up later. Sames goes for knitting--although I've knitted some dish rags that turned out OK.

Thank you so much for your comments. I've been crocheting for just about a year and I just LOVE it! It relaxes me and keeps me sane. Please don't give up on doing crochet because you get a lot of gratification out of the projects that you do. Start with something simple but something you like. You might want to try Amigurumi or toys if you will. Check out free crochet patterns on the net.
